Micro-wave expert - answer required.?

I know never to use metal containers in a microwave, because it causes arcing. But....

How come the inside of a microwave is lined with stainless steel, yet you cannot use a stainless steel container to cook your food?Micro-wave expert - answer required.?
The size of the oven is designed to be a ';cavity'; for the microwave. In other words it a tuned circuit that reflects the energy around inside it. The microwaves can't get out through the metal sides and are contained. Metal inside this cavity de-tunes it causing issues with the energy being reflected back into the magnetron that creates the energy and could cause it to overheat and burn out.
