How do you clean grease off a stainless steel teapot?

It seems to have old yellow grease splatters on it form being on the stove-top while I was cooking other things. I've tried cleaning it with dish detergent (Dawn Hand-Renewal) but it did not work. How do you clean grease off a stainless steel teapot?
Use oven cleaner. this is the best way to get rid of baked-on grease. be sure to read the instructions first, and I'd recommend wearing gloves and doing this outside.

A paste of baking soda and vinegar, and a lot of ';elbow grease'; also works well. Baking soda is an abrasive, but it's not hard enough to scratch steel. How do you clean grease off a stainless steel teapot?
try baking soda, make a paste with just a touch of water and use a washcloth to wipe it clean
Lysol Basin Tub and Tile Cleaner works great. Just squirt it on there, and let it sit for about 15 minutes, it should wipe right off. If that doesn't get it all, try using a Brillo pad.
try Mr. Clean Eraser pads then polish w/stainless steel cleaner
Just get some Barkeeper's Friend. It's a powdered cleanser that works great on metal. It gets the yuck off but is still gentle enough to be used on ceramic cook tops. It's cheap and you can get it in a lot of grocery and discount stores.

Dampen the tea pot. Sprinkle a good amount of the cleanser on a damp sponge and give the tea pot a good smearing up all over. Walk away for 10-15 minutes; come back and give it a scrubbing. If it's really bad you might have to do the smear, soak and scrub thing a second time. Wash and rinse well to remove all the residue and your kettle should look like new.
